Remark: Schröder was accused of conspiracy to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity, and committing war crimes and crimes against humanity at the doctor trials for he was general surgeon of the Luftwaffe, and many human experiments on concentration inmates were conducted by Luftwaffe doctors. He was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity and sentenced to life imprisonment, but this was commuted to 15 years. He was released from prison in 1954.
